Lisa was incredibly easy to talk to, with a warm and friendly presence that put me at ease straight away and made me feel that I could talk to her about anything. She was always really caring and compassionate in listening to and responding to all my difficulties.

At the start of therapy, we created diagrams to lay out the core beliefs and thinking/behavioural patterns contributing to my difficulties. This was very helpful as it enabled me to understand and pinpoint what needed to be addressed.

In helping me address these beliefs and patterns, Lisa provided me with many tools and strategies. These were helpful during the therapy and will be of use in the future. As my therapy progressed, I felt an increasing sense of confidence in my own ability to cope with my problems. This increasing confidence was facilitated by using the tools/strategies in my life and seeing my progress, as well as by Lisa being completely open to and encouraging me to explore my own ideas about my difficulties, often prompting me to think of solutions myself as well as providing her own advice. As I had long been a person that turned for others for support, this increasing self-confidence in dealing with life was really nice to experience.

I also found it very helpful that Lisa was able to provide various forms of therapy, as this meant we were easily able to try different approaches for particular issues to find out what was best.

After much progress, I decided that I was ready to stop therapy, but the door was left open to return for more help should it ever be needed.

The first thing Lisa did was to create a safe and non judgemental space where I felt able to talk about my childhood trauma which I had kept a secret for 50 years. This was the first big step on my healing journey. She then helped me through EMDR and CAT treatments, to look
at what had happened to me, helped me understand how it had impacted on me and how it led to unhealthy coping strategies. With Lisa help I was able to face and release the fear I had been carrying  for decades, map out new healthy coping strategies that reinforced positive and self compassionate behavior.  At times the treatment was very intense and Lisa support was there all the way.

I can't overstate how fundamental and positive the change had been. I feel my brain has been re wired, I am able to talk about my feelings
and noticeably I have more empathy for others. At times I have found the treatments very difficult emotionally but when I look back I can
see it has been a growing experience. I feel my past has been dealt with and I can move on.

My sessions with Lisa were different to those I have had before with other therapists when facing life’s challenges and have had a profound impact on how I now understand myself.

She was quickly able to identify my behaviour patterns and explored these in a visual map which I found very powerful and use constantly. I strongly endorse her insightful approach.
